Self-Hosted (Wordpress) Vs Free-hosted (Blogger), Which Is Better

As a newbie in blogosphere, you might be confused on which platform you will have your blog built on, either self hosted (wordpress) or free hosted (blogger), as for me, that is a beginner in blogging, i prefer free hosted, to test my knowledge and to see if i will make it in blogging before advancing to self hosted blog.
Now let me start by free hosted blog (blogger).
Free hosted blog is easy to setup, now these are the pros in free hosting account
• You don't have to worry about the maintenance of the server, you are hosted on
• Your blog comes with a free subdomain, e.g yourname.blogspot.com, you can add your custom domain later
• No matter how much traffic, you get your blog will never go offline
• To crown it all, it is free except you want to upgrage to some premium plans
Now that we have the pros, why not let me highlight the the cons
These are the cons of free hosted account
• Incase of copyright infringement, google might take down your blog
• You can't actually design your blog to your taste
• No use of plugins, unlike self hosted blog
• Bad site navigation
We have seen both the pros and cons of hosting a blog on blogger platform, now let's take a look at self hosted (wordpress).
Pros of self hosted account
• The maintenance and look of the blog is on your hands
• You make use of plugins
• You can have the opportunity to own a custom email address like yourname@thedomain.com
Let's take a look at the cons
Cons of self hosted account
• You will be restless ( have experience it before)
• Too much coding required to design your blog
• Wordpress hosting doesn't make use of visual editor
No matter how the cons are in self hosted blog, i think it wins it all, but some of us bloggers want free things (it's normal), that's why i myself prefer blogger platform for a startup, before advancing to self hosted.

What Type Of Domain Extensions Fits My Blog?
Ngrblogger
September 26, 2016

These are the questions, bloggers ask themselves when purchasing a domain name, there are so many domain extensions out there, ranging from the top tlds to the least ones, examples are; .com, .net, .org, .co, .biz, .info, .edu and even country generic tlds like; .com.ng, .ng, .us, .co.uk, all this are domain extensions, so the question is "which one fits my blog", these days bloggers buy domains names according to their pockets, some even use .me tld for a blog, .me tld is fits for a personal/profile website, something like ifeanyionuegbu.me, the domain itself will tell that it is about somebody, without wasting much of your time, i would like to tell you what this tlds means, starting with .com = this domain name means commercial, that means anybody using this tld have a business and wants to make money/profits, .net = this tld stands for network, somehow they don't want make money, .org = this tld is the short form of organisation, websites using this tlds have a company, .edu = this tld is limited to educational institutes, such as schools, universities etc.
For you running a blog, the best tld you can go for is .com, a second choice would be .biz (as it also stands for business), how about country-generic tlds, as you are living in nigeria, and your pocket can't buy .com, why not try .com.ng tld because it is cheaper in nigeria, .com = N3,000 while .com.ng = N1,700, so do the math, how much are you saving? N1,300, think about it yourself
Note:- You will hardly have visitors from other countries
So that's the disadvantage, am not trying to convince you, why not give it a try? and share your testimonies here.

Stop Comment Moderation, It's Killing Your Blog

Hello, just this evening i visited a blog (name withheld), i read one of the blog posts, the post was so catchy, so i decided to leave a comment, only to see " Your Comment Will Be Approved By The Administator", so tell me how do you think i will feel? am i a spammer? this was the question i asked myself when i encountered that scenario, and the worst part is that the blog is upcoming, so tell me "will this feature help the blog owner?" if you think, it will help then comment here, like i was saying this step in preventing spammers, will also pursue your loyal readers, who wants their comment to appear immediately after posting/publishing it, and to also be included in the picture, this is just a " piece of cake" to aspiring bloggers/blogs.
Difference Between Nigeria Adsense Account And Usa Adsense Account
Ngrblogger
September 25, 2016

I have been recieving so many questions on the difference between nigeria adsense account with usa adsense account, the truth is "if your visitors is coming from nigeria, then you need to register your adsense acct under nigeria, but if they are coming from usa and some other american countries, then you go for usa adsense.
The Difference (Nigeria)
If you open an adsense account with your country (nigeria), then what you open is a nigerian adsense account, that means your ads will be nigeria-based ads, and in nigeria advertisers don't pay huge money for advertising needs compare to usa.
That means you will get poor revenue from google adsense, some nigerian bloggers get majority of their traffic from nigeria, but still opt-in for usa adsense account, for this single reason; Pay-Per-Click, like i said earlier advertisers in nigeria pay low for their advertising needs, so you could imagine what you will get on pay per click with a nigeria-based ads, but usa ads revenue is different, clicking on a us-based ads will see you earning about $0.10, but on a nigeria-based ads you might get about $0.4, so tell me what is the difference? Another difference is the verification of your nigeria adsense account, which is quite easy if you living in nigeria, this is where the bad news lies for those that want to run a us-based adsense account but they are living in nigeria, 😂 because you might not be able to verify it, except you have a friend there, or you are willing to spend your cash, because if you don't verify it, there will no payments to you, now let's talk about the usa adsense account
The Difference (United States)
Like i said earlier, advertisers in usa pay higher for their advertising needs, you can't compare us ads PPC rates to nigeria PPC rates, there is a huge difference, but the only problem is to verify the us adsense account, and their ads is catchy compared to nigeria ads, no much thing to say about them, so i will stop here
My Conclusion
If you living in nigeria, i will advise you to go for adsense account bases in nigeria, don't waste your time for us adsense acct, when you live in nigeria, cause when it's time for payment, and you haven't verified, nothing for you
